Dan and Rachelle Park Named Sales Associates for
Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Clearfield

Sales Associate Jeff Ross Joins
Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in South Ogden
SOUTH OGDEN, Utah – July 26, 2010 – Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, a leading provider of real estate services in Utah, announced today that Jeff Ross has joined the company as a sales associate in its South Ogden office. Ross earned his real estate license in 1996, his broker’s license in 1998 and worked with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage for nearly five years before deciding to work in construction full time, an industry he has been involved in for 15 years. Jonathan Cracroft Named Sales Associate for

Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Expanding Smart Phone Technology with Launch of QR Codes
SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – June 28, 2010 – Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, a leading provider of real estate services in Utah, announced today that it is expanding its smart phone technology services by becoming the first local real estate brokerage to deploy quick response or QR codes in its marketing and advertising.
QR codes, also known as “tags,” are part of an emerging technology that allows consumers to point their smart phone cameras at newspaper advertisements, magazines, home flyers, and even for-sale signs on front lawns, to link to Web sites with more information on properties.
The graphic images are two-dimensional bar codes as small as a postage stamp and enable printed ads to become interactive. They create an instant connection to the Web via a smart phone’s browser, with little effort from the consumer. QR code-reader applications can be downloaded free or inexpensively from the Web or from Apple’s app store for iPhone users.
“QR codes have been around for years in Japan and Europe as a way to link consumers to websites, videos, images and other advertising channels, but the technology is really just starting to catch on in this country,” said Dan Christensen, president of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Utah.
“This technology has great potential in the real estate industry as a way to give home buyers the information they need, the instant they want it no matter where they are,” he said. “With so many of us relying on our smart phones these days, we fully expect that QR codes will quickly becoming an indispensible tool for home shoppers here in Utah.”
Christensen said Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage decided to introduce the QR codes in Utah because of the region’s tech-savvy population and the popularity of the iPhone, BlackBerry, Droid and other smart phones. But he expects the technology will be rolled out in other regions before long.
The QR codes will be used in the company’s corporate ads, home magazines and other marketing material. Additionally, Coldwell Banker will also be working with its 780 agents in 12 offices along the greater Wasatch Front to use the codes on their flyers, postcards and, in the near future, their for-sale signs.

Historical Ezra Thompson Clark and Susan Leggett Clark Farmington Home Up for Sale
FARMINGTON, Utah. – June 21, 2010 – Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, a leading provider of real estate services in Utah, announced today that the historical home of Ezra Thompson Clark, one of the founding members and early leaders of Farmington, and his wife Susan Leggett Clark, is on the market for $385,000.
The six-bedroom, three-bathroom, 4,100-square-foot plus home is located at 335 W State Street and is estimated to have been built in the late 1860s in the west wing of Farmington’s original fort enclosure. It is listed for sale by Dan Nix of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Bountiful.
The Clark family has a long history in Farmington. When arriving in 1848, Ezra Clark was given 35 acres of land by Brigham Young, holdings that he eventually expanded to 700 acres. On the land, he raised sugar cane, cattle, hay and grain. He founded the Davis County bank and was elected its first president in 1891, and was the Davis County treasurer. He also served as a patriarch and president of the High Priests’ quorum of the Davis Stake of Zion.
Susan, who was Clark’s second wife, came from a cultured English home and was an accomplished artist at needle work. They raised their 10 children in the home, including Annie Clark Tanner, who is the mother of OC Tanner and the author of the book “A Mormon Mother.” In the book, she writes about her life growing up in the house which was across the street from where Ezra Clark also lived with his first wife, Mary Stevenson Clark, and their 11 children.
The exact construction date of the home is difficult to establish. Though county records currently show 1880 as the year it was built, title records indicate that the property was transferred to Ezra Clark in July of 1870 and was likely built in the late 1860s after the Clarks were married in 1861. It is now on the Utah and the National Historical Registries and is part of the Clark Lane National Historic District.
The two-story home is a very early example of the Italianate, Second Empire, and Queen Anne styles in a cross-wing house type. The exterior is made of fired brick and adobe walls, which are supported on a stone foundation, and at the front of the home is a hip roof porch. Inside, the six bedrooms are spread out over all three floors, including the basement, and there are three full bathrooms. There is also a great room, formal dining room, breakfast nook, library, and second-story laundry room. The kitchen has been updated and the home boasts a large backyard with full landscaping, fruit trees and a vegetable garden.
“This is an exceptional home and an important piece in the history of Farmington and Davis County,” said Nix. “Not only is it beautiful, inside and out, but it stands as a monument to those who helped to build this wonderful town. It has housed one of the most prominent families in our county’s history and is now ready for a new generation to move in.”

Jonathan Cohen of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Attends National Relocation Directors Council Conference
SALT LAKE CITY, Utah. – June 21, 2010 – Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, a leading provider of real estate services in Utah, announced today that Jonathan Cohen, the company’s relocation director, recently attended the Relocation Directors Council® (RDC) spring conference in Orlando, FL.
The theme of this year’s two day conference was titled “Rebound, Rebuild, Reposition.” The meeting was comprised of panels and roundtables addressing critical employee mobility issues faced by relocation and real estate professionals in today’s economic climate. Topics included “New Relocation Business Models,” “Foreclosures and their Effect on the Market,” “Why Global Matters,” “Ins and Outs of Government Relocations,” “Relocation Practices in the Age of the New Normal,” and “Meeting the Rental Needs of Today’s Corporate Transferees.”

Sales Associate David Brown Joins Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage’s Sugar House Office
SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – May 19, 2010 – Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, a leading provider of real estate services in Utah, is pleased to welcome David Brown as an associate broker in its Sugar House office. In his new position, Brown will specialize in residential sales in Salt Lake City, primarily in the Sugar House, Harvard Yale and Dale Park communities.
Prior to joining Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, Brown worked at an architectural engineering company, Brown, Paper and Plotter Reprographics, from 1992 to 2002. In 2002, he made the transition to real estate investing by buying and selling existing homes, and purchasing land and building homes, in Salt Lake City. He recently earned his real estate license to become more directly involved in the buying and selling process.
