We appreciate your interest in Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Community Foundation and its philanthropic goals and objectives. The CBRB Community Foundation is actively involved in all the communities where we do business. Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage believes that contribution decisions are most effectively made at the local level. The following information explains the charitable contribution guidelines for the Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Community Foundation in Utah.
Contributions Focus Areas
Our contributions are primarily directed to two areas: Housing and Health and Human Services. Priority is given to requests whose primary purpose is to benefit those individuals and families in need of assistance.
Housing
The Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Community Foundation gives grant making priority to requests from organizations whose primary focuses are home ownership.
Health and Human Services
The Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Community Foundation accepts requests for support of health or human service organizations gives priority to those whose work primarily benefits those individuals in need of assistance. Those organizations may be involved in a variety of issues including services or enrichment for at-risk children, basic needs such as food and shelter, advocacy, domestic violence, the disabled, substance abuse, or special services for women. Health charities are considered but are not as high of a priority for funding. Events centered around sports personalities or activities are not usually considered. Nonprofits serving clients outside the United States are not eligible.

Grant proposals are accepted throughout the year. There are no proposal deadlines nor is there a formal application form to be completed. To be eligible to apply to the Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Community Foundation for charitable contribution support, organizations must have their own current tax-exempt status under Section 501(c) (3) or 501(c) (6) of the Internal Revenue Code or be a qualified governmental or tribal entity.
Not Eligible for Consideration
Due to Federal law, foundation policy or budget limitations, the CBRB Community Foundation cannot provide funding for the following:
- Endowment Campaigns
- Capital or Building Campaigns
- Video or Film Production
- Promotional Item
- Purchase of vehicles
- Start-up funding for new nonprofit organizations or small businesses
- Travel, including student athletic or academic trips
- Political Activities
- Direct Benefit to Individuals, e.g., pageants, medical funds
- Any For-Profit Entities
- Receptions for non-affiliated national conferences

Eligible organizations may submit a written proposal that addresses the criteria outlined in proposal checklist. Please make sure your proposal includes the following information:
- A description of the organization, including its mission and major accomplishments.
- The organization's current operating budget, including sources of funds.
- Specific dollar amount requested.
- A description of the population to be served by the funds requested and, if applicable, a specific description of the population served, including the data used to identify that population's income levels. Grant requests that serve low/moderate populations receive extra consideration.Please put that information in your cover letter.
- List of current board members and key staff.
- Copy of organization's tax-exempt notification letter from the IRS showing the Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) or proof of nonprofit designation as a governmental or tribal entity.
Completed proposals are given careful and serious consideration and will be reviewed under the grant proposal timelines. Incomplete proposals will not be considered. Binders, videos, and other additional nonrequested materials should not be included and cannot be returned to the sender.

The Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Community Foundation has established two categories for funding both major non-profits and smaller non-profit organizations. The Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Community Foundation offers support on a one-time non-recurring basis for the following:
- One-time non-recurring grant.
Category A – Under $1,000 Support Grant
The Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Community Foundation will review requests with a simple letter of need along with your organizations letter of tax-expempt status under condition 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. No request will be considered without this letter.
Category B – Over $1,000 Support Grant
We provide support in all communities where Coldwell Banker provides services. Guidelines for grants over $1,000 must follow our proposal checklist.
- Support Grants dealing with housing or housing related issues in the community.
Examples might include down payment and closing cost subsidies, housing predevelopment, construction, or rehab costs. The Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Community Foundation does not fund general operating costs such as rents, salaries, etc. To determine your eligibility for financial support and get details of proposal requirements, please review our proposal checklist.

Please note that the Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Community Foundation does not fund individuals, religious organizations for religious purposes, political campaigns, or organizations designed primarily for lobbying.

Due to the significant number of requests received, please include all of the following information with your submission. Please send three copies of your proposal. Missing information may cause considerable delay.
- Letter of tax-exempt status under Section 501 (c )(3 ) of the Internal Revenue Code
- Federal tax identification number (if different from the 501(c )(3 ) number)
- Cover letter, not to exceed five (5) pages.
- Mission of your organization
- The total amount requested
- Purpose of the funds
- Description of the organization
- Brief history of the organization
- Specific program offered and program objectives
- Number of people and geographic area served
- Staff list, job titles and chain of command
- Financial information
- Current year income and expense plan
- Previous fiscal year income and expense actuals (audited if possible)
- List of corporate and foundation contributions and amounts contributed
- Governance information
- List of officers and board of directors
- Evidence of a long-range plan
- Marketing/communications
- Annual Report (if available)
- Brochures describing programs and services to clients (if available)
- If your request is for programs or project support, please include:
- Description of the program or project
- Timeline for implementation and evaluation of the program
- Budget, including proposed and committed sources of income
- Job description for staff
- Qualification of staff

Meadows Mobile Home Park Relocation Committee
The Mayor and City Council of Cottonwood Heights, the Salt Lake Community Action Program, and the Salt Lake County Aging Services would like to thank you for your support (donation) to the Meadows Mobile Home Park relocation effort...At the time of our intervention and assessments, we identitified 149 households representing 247 people: 50% or 70 households were seniors or disabled, the majority with fixed incomes; 17% or 26 households were families with children (50 children); 33% or 53 households were individuals or couples without children...Very few of the householdshad the resources readily availablefor the costs of relocating their trailers-assuming they were even in condition to be moved...While it was painful for residents to make these moves, the funding you helped provide assisted in achieving outcomes that were better than expected. The majority of our 149 households transitioned to safe, quality and affordable housing without significant debt...
The committee thanks you because we couldn't have done it without your support! This could have been a most tragic situation, but due to generous and compassionate donors such as you, we were able to achieve an outcome that has benefited hundreds of lives.

On behalf of Your Community Connection's clients, Board of Directors, staff and volunteers, a sincere thank you is extended to you and Coldwell Banker for yoru recent and generous donation...This contribution will be used in support of YCC's programs. We appreciate you thinking of YCC and we are grateful for your understanding of our needs to continue to serve Northern Utah's families.
Last fiscal year over 408 women and children received safety in the domestic violence shelter; 58 families were helped through the shelter AfterCare program; there were 253 support groups offered to English speaking victims of domestic violence with 48 support groups offered to Spanish speaking victims; response was made to 183 rape and sexual assault crisis calls; and 606 protective order hearings were attended by domestic violence victim advocates; 24 homeless families were served in the transitional housing program; 3,143 vouchers benefiting 8,091 homeless individuals were issued for use in the thrift store.

Granite Education Foundation
Many thanks for the generous donation...to the Granite Education Foundation for the Student Health Aid program...it will be used to help disadvantaged children obtain eyeglasses. These students are unable to see the chalkboard, visual aids, and other learning tools, but do not qualify for government assistance. The Granite Education Foundation collaborates with eye doctors that donate their time to assist these children. The funding provided by Coldwell Banker will purchase the much needed eyeglasses for these children.
